I went to Acres in Brixton on New Year's Eve. What a great night I had! It was packed out on both floors. The music was so good. The venue is very sylish ,the best in Brixton. The staff was very warm friendly and helpful. I have been back there every week either friday or saturday . I have not been disappointed once. Everyone is always well dressed and the security is very well organised and friendly. Keep it up guys!
Brixton needs somewhere like Acres where you can dress well ,have great time, and feel safe. WELL DONE!
Well! I am really sorry to say that my friends and I wanted a really nice night out ... what a disappointment. Whilst the decor is somewhat inviting and stylish, the atmosphere was dull and not really what you expect to find in Brixton. I always thought Management were seen but not head but it would seem at this venue, they are all too happy to be front of house, and really they would be best placed monitoring the CCTV, mind you... there wasnt that many people to watch... Sort it out guys... Brixton needs a good watering hole and you are letting the side down!!
I went to Acres last Friday and a had a great time.
Contrary to what the frustrated, jealous punters of other bars might think, Acres is truly a wonderful bar.
Yes the bar was not full when my friend and I first arrived, but 45minutes into us being there, with entertaining music which made us rock and move our bodies, you could not move.
Ladies this is the place to be (I must admit there were more ladies than gents) and Gents you need to go to Acres.
Loved it and will be there every Friday once I have disposable income.
Come to Acres girls. Talent is great.
I went to Acres last week Friday and I have to say that I dont't think I have been to anywhere that nice, not just in Brixton but in London! The staff were very warm and the cocktails amazing. I recommend the mohito! The Dj was great and played a wide range of music for everyone. I will definately be going back!
Firstly let me say that Acres restaurant and bar is a wonderful and nice place (only when you look at it from the outside). I have been there a couple of times as a friend of mine recommended it to me, when I got there I said wow, really nice place and a great addition to south london and particularly to Brixton!
Let me tell you, this didn't last long as I got in the place it was empty and lifeless. Almost half of the drinks on the menu were not available or as the bartender said, they had run out (run out on the weekend?).
Well, not only this but the food was not good either. It tasted as if it was stored for ages in the fridge and quickly cooked, the DJ was bad, the doormen very impolite, the bartenders looked very uncomfortable behind the bar even as it was not busy!
It's incredible with a place like that, it's a shame! My advice to my fellow clubgoers is to look for another place to go because you will get disappointed.
Firstly let me say what a welcome addition to Brixton! I booked a booth for my 30th birthday party on Friday and had a fabulous time. we were welcomed by a lovely host who made us feel very special. The cocktails were orgasmic! And the DJ played the best music I've heard in a long time. I will definitely be going to Acres again this Friday night.
I went to Acres again last Friday as Victor Vader, one of my favourite DJs was supposedly playing. What a dissapointment. They had another DJ(if you could call it that) playing the corniest old school pop music. The place was lifeless and empty - on a Friday night?
I ran into Vader later that night in Brixton and he also thought he was playing that night until he got there and was told they had booked someone else. You'd think Acres would have bothered to let him know.
I ended up spending the rest of the night at Z Bar which was a few doors away and the total opposite of what I experienced at Acres which has joined my list of venues to be totally avoided.
I agree! Acres is possibly one of the worst managed venues in London. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my five years of being in London. The management team is very unfriendly and would not oblige any requests made. I will certainly never return there and I would highy recommend that no one wastes their money at this place.
Here is a suggestion to the Acres staff, the customer is always right! Change your management team!
