I have been living in Chiswick for nearly a year now and always seem to find culinary gems on and around the High Road. So, walking into Frankie's, I expected something really special.

What a shame - it seems that they spent most of their budget on the interior decorating, which was fun, unique & great for atmosphere. But it left pretty much nothing left for the food.

I started with a caprese salad and the mozzarella and tomatoes were smothered in pesto. My next misstep was ordering the carbonara which came in a huge bowl - my partner pointed out that it looked more soup than pasta. He ordered one of their steaks which was 'average,' just like the service. We voiced these concerns to the waitress, who shrugged and said she'd 'mention' it to the chef.

Such a disappointment, as it just looks fabulous and the terrace is great in the summer. If I'm ever forced to go again, I'm sticking to their cocktail list only.

Six of us visited London for a girlie birthday weekend & stayed in Chiswick. After reading various reviews we decided on Frankie's for the birthday meal. How pleased we were!!

We ate there on 18th April 08 & it was wonderful!! The staff were so friendly & attentive, they couldn't do enough for us. The restaurant itself is lovely & the Magician adds a little extra touch! The food was gorgeous, we all tried different things from the menu & everyone enjoyed it. I would definately recommend the Creme Brulee. As someone who doesn't usually enjoy this desert I was shocked & amazed at how gorgeous it was...didn't want it to end!!

Very well priced, it worked out about £25 each (inc tip) for a 3 course meal with various drinks that included cocktails, spirits & water.

Will definately be visiting next time we're in London.

This was a really nice place to go for our meal, the food was fantastic, the waiters/waitresses were very friendly and helpful, and above all, it was great value for money. Would definately recommend and return there myself sometime in the future.

I've been past this restaurant several times and always wanted to try it. I have to say it was completely different inside from the trattoria style of the outside, but don't let this put you off. Our evening started with a wobbly table but the staff were more than happy to move us to a more secure one! The food was absolutely perfect and cannot be faulted in my view. The fact you can have starter sized portions of the pasta dishes instantly appealed to me and I went for the gnocchi, which was lovely. The pizzas were amazing and very large for the modest price tag. I must recommend the marscapone creme brulee for dessert - I never wanted it to end! For a 3 course meal for 2 to be under £40 (with wine and water) in Chiswick is astounding and with such good food I will definitely be returning soon.

I have recently moved to Chiswick and am amazed and delighted by the wonderful array of places to eat, drink and generally make merry. The temptation to go to Frankie's was purely due to the very pretty Meditteranean style terrace, not something you see too often in London....so on a sunny lunchtime in I went expecting the worst.

It was great, the food, the staff are lovely, trendy and cool without being snotty. I really can't fault Frankie's. After a really well made Negroni cocktail I had the carpaccio followed by the Spaghetti Vongole and my partner plumped for the Salumi misti followed the glazed belly of pork both of which were gorgeous. I recommend the zucchini fries as as side order.

My only gripe was that we were not given (or maybe just didn't see) the Sunday Lunch Set Menu which at under £10 for two courses is a steal, the people next to us had the roast beef which looked yummy. All in all a really good experience. I for one will definitely be back. Great food, great location, good value for money.

My boyfriend and I went to Frankie's last night for the second time, and were so disappointed! The service was terrible as well as the food. Our starters were okay but then I made a mistake by ordering the chicken burger. I honestly do not know how they could call this chicken - it was processed rubbish. I could not believe it when it arrived at my table, and when I tried to complain I was insulted by being told it was fresh chicken – I promise you Jamie Oliver would have had a field day!

After the complaint we pretty much got ignored for the rest of the evening. This was a real pity as last time Frankie's was amazing. Maybe just an off night? Who knows, but I will never go back there again.

Visited Frankie's Italian Bar and Grill in August. Extremely disappointed. We were served warm prosecco. Old tasting parma ham and spaghetti vongole that tasted like it was bathed in butter! Overpriced too, service added for not a great service! And a women sitting outside bought her dog into the ladies toliet - very dirty. Only appealing thing at Frankie's Italian Bar and Grill was the decor. Sorry, will not be going back!
