I ate at Georgetown restaurant last night and what an awful experience. Although the service was very slow, the food was disgraceful and the piano music was dull. And the place was dirty.

I ordered the Dim Sum to start, they smelt like cat food and tasted so dreadful I couldn't eat them. Then the Mee Goreng, I am a big fan of this dish usually however, the Georgetown chef killed it. Since when do you serve a noodle dish with all the noodles chopped up? Also, it really was tasteless.

Finally, I had the Satay Ayam, which were partially burnt, along with a couple of pieces of dried out cucumber and tinned pineapple. All in all dreadful. Don't go there!

I think Georgetown is Malaysian or Indanese...whatever. The food is suberb and there's a real colonial feel to the place - lot's of palm trees and chandeliers. The Georgetown can be a bit pricey, but they do a cheaper set course menu and it's still cheaper than an airline ticket to Asia!

Georgetown provided possibly one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years.

The main course took 2 hours and 15 minutes to arrive, the food was uninspiring, bland and overpriced for what it was. Several people were complaining about how long they had been waiting for their food. We wouldn't have minded if the portions were bigger (and no, I'm a size 8 and not a greedy guts). The so-called 4 course meal was really the main course served in four sections and it certainly wasn't a la carte. It ruined a birthday and we will not be recommending this to anyone! Very, very disappointing.
