If you’re looking for an exclusive restaurant look no further than Lindsay House.

The Venue
This is a strictly in-the-know type of establishment that has the appearance of an ordinary Georgian townhouse from the outside. Press the doorbell, enter and be welcomed by the waiter who will kindly greet you and seat you upstairs in the lush yet comfortable dining room. Once inside you are made to feel very special when you are seated in the dining room and presented with a menu that is sure to impress any gourmand or self-confessed foodie.

The Atmosphere
Although formal and exclusive, the atmosphere is still warm and inviting. The dining room has a homey feel, which is reflected in the menu created by the award-winning chef Richard Corrigan that features a delectable array of meat and fish dishes.

The Food
Expect the unexpected at Lindsay House; this is the type of place where a simple bread roll can impress. For starters the lobster risotto with shellfish and tarragon is divine – the fish cooked and seasoned to perfection with creamy risotto rice and a hint of tarragon. The soup is also impressive with flavoursome wild celery, crunchy walnuts and strong Stichelton cheese.

The vegetarian option of pumpkin ravioli has an autumnal taste and is wonderfully complemented with a sage and walnut pesto – the pasta is cooked to perfection and the sauce is relatively mild in flavour and doesn’t overpower the ravioli parcels. Roast fillet of John Dory melts in the mouth and is served with a delicious and fresh-tasting crab cannelloni, Muscat grapes and girolle mushrooms – all of the ingredients blend perfectly. The dish is served with heavenly creamed potato, smooth in texture, creamy, light and delicious.

Those with a sweet tooth should opt for the chestnut creme brulee with caramelised chestnuts – the sweet nutty flavour combined with the sugar syrup creates a wonderful light choice. The lime souffle is also good, with the zesty fruit complemented by creamy mascarpone sorbet – a nice sharp finish to a meal.

The Drink
The sommelier will happily assist you with the extensive wine list and can tailor wine to every course – the wine compliments each dish perfectly and every time a new glass is poured you’ll have a brief explanation of what it was and why it was chosen – perfect! Wine and champagne are available by the glass and the bottle as well.

The Last Word
If you want to experience a good restaurant, book a table at Lindsay House. The service is impeccable, the food is artfully presented and you’re treated to nice little touches such as a pre-dessert and a little appetiser before your meal arrives.
